Teeth Whitening

Woman Getting Teeth Whitened | Garden Springs DentalThe only way to properly whiten teeth is by using Hydrogen Peroxide. Whitening toothpaste only removes surface stains from coffee, tea, and smoking. Professional Tooth Whitening will change the deep shade of the tooth over time.

How Teeth Whitening Works

Bleaching trays are fabricated by the dentist to fit the patient’s teeth precisely. A gel solution is given to the patient to place in the trays.  The trays should be worn for a period of about 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. Over 2-3 weeks, the teeth being treated with the hydrogen peroxide gel in the trays will noticeably change shades. Some teeth with a darker beginning shade may take longer to whiten and extra hydrogen peroxide gel may need to be purchased.

Whitening Post-Care

After the desired shade is reached, the patient should touch up as needed to maintain their whitening progress. Call our office to learn more about our whitening services.
